Syd Mead Basic Shapes Assignment

I started with Syd Mead's original artwork:


























Then blocked it out into some simple shapes, mostly squares:

Then I did some color blocking and some detailing and added a drop shadow:

Then I did more coloring and smudged the different shades together and added more detailing:
